NİLGÜN MERCAN | HANDMADE JEWELRY


   Nilgün Mercan was born in Germany. In 2012, her interest in traditional handicrafts and jewellery design led her to the art of jewellery. In 2012, while stepping into the magical world of metal, fire and stones, she started to receive sadekar training on this long journey. She continues her education with patience and curiosity in order to carry her imagination and designs forward. 


   She was awarded the title of Jewellery Saddler by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and became a Unesco Intangible Cultural Heritage Bearer. She sometimes interprets her interest in traditional motifs in a modern style and sometimes designs handmade jewellery by blending natural themes. Her aim is to reflect simplicity, elegance and aesthetics by maintaining traditional craftsmanship in her products where she uses silver, gold plating on silver and precious stones.


   In 2013, Zeugma Lions Club participated in the Mixed Jewellery Exhibition for the benefit of children with Down Syndrome and in 2015 Zeugma Lions Club participated in the mixed jewellery exhibitions named Sparkles from History for the benefit of children with cancer.


   Nilgün Mercan offers designs that make you special and privileged, reflecting your style, combining its naive line with the sparkle of stones.
